Vemotion supports wide range of CCTV cameras

~ New developments put CCTV Camera choice in the hands of the customer ~

North Yorkshire, UK – 7th Dec 2010 – Vemotion Interactive, specialists in live video transmission over low bandwidth connections, today announced the completion of development work to enable the Vemotion technology to be used with a wide range of cameras now available on the market.

Vemotion enables Remote Video Surveillance by making it possible to transmit quality live video over unmanaged networks using low bandwidth, providing access from many more locations than supported by alternative solutions.  CCTV cameras today have become increasingly sophisticated and being able to integrate with a wide range of different cameras enables use of the correct or most appropriate device for each particular environment. Examples include use of low light cameras for night operations, cameras with a powered pan-tilt-zoom for close surveillance and use of body worn cameras for police and security operations.

“In some cases in our market area, the transmission technology is locked in with proprietary equipment supported by the supplier,” explained Stewart McCone, Managing Director of Vemotion, “In specialist cases this can mean that a customer requiring low bandwidth transmission of video has to use a camera which may not be best fit for purpose.  This new Vemotion development work has removed that limitation.”
